We are always happy to answer any queries you may have regarding any aspect of our event, but one or two questions seem to be cropping up quite regularly so we have created a frequently asked questions section.
No, it is not compulsory for anyone to attend the registration event, but those who choose to register on the morning of the first day of play will not receive a complimentary goodie bag or raffle tickets for the presentation event. We have extended the times between which players can register to assist those who may have other commitments to attend.
All 3 courses will be used on each day. With a field of 150 pairs, 50 pairs will be drawn to play at each of the 3 courses on each day. The groups of 50 will then rotate and play a different course each day. It is not possible to say which course you will be playing on each day until the draw is made after the entries close.
At the time of booking each couple will be asked whether they need a buggy. These will be allocated on a first come first served basis as numbers are limited at each course. The use of a buggy may also dictate which courses you play on each day. If after the time of booking your needs change please use the CONTACT US page of our website.
A current and active handicap index identifies a player that has returned a minimum of five qualifying scores per year. We would therefore require all entrants to have submitted at least five verified scores for handicap purposes (competition rounds) in the twelve months leading up to the tournament start date, and these be available for review by the tournament organisers if requested.
No, handicaps will remain unchanged for the duration of the competition (Rules of Handicapping 7.2a).
After each round, all scores will be submitted to the WHS for handicapping purposes and you will be notified of any change to your handicap, but this will not be applied to your handicap index for our event.
Depending on the size of the group yes, but you will need to let us know your group details via email at the time of booking. We will try to keep groups to similar tee times but you will not be drawn to play in the same four ball as others from within your group.
The draw will be made as soon as possible once the entries close on the 25th of July. We are aiming to have the draw on the website for the 26th of July. Once drawn the draw will appear in the DRAW page of the website and the downloadable Golf Genius App for the 2025 event.
Penrith GC is central is terms of the courses hosting the event but anyone staying in the immediate area of any of the clubs will be able to travel to each course easily. Brampton GC to Penrith GC is 35 minutes by car and Appleby GC to Penrith GC is 28 minutes. We have added some suggestions to our LOCAL HOSPITALITY page, but the choice is entirely yours.
For the purposes of our competition Gentlemen will use the yellow tees at Brampton and Penrith and gold at Appleby. Ladies will use the red tees at Brampton and Penrith and blue at Appleby. The scorecards will indicate which tees are to be used.
If the online booking has closed and we still have spaces left for late entries, please contact us via the CONTACT US page and we may still be able to accept your entry.
