The feedback we received this year has been overwhelmingly positive, and for this we thank you all. If you have any suggestions, positive or negative, please use the GIVE FEEDBACK button below to pass on your thoughts and ideas and we will use them to ensure that our 2025 EVMGT event is even better.
We just wanted to say a big thank you for this week’s event. It was fabulously organised and the weather was just glorious ….you couldn’t have asked for it to be any better. All the staff at each golf club were well welcoming and friendly, with the courses in great condition. You and Richard should be very proud of what you have achieved.
We were sorry that we couldn’t make last nights event at Penrith golf club and we hope you all had a good time.
I bet you’re already on to organising next years event ……but have a rest first!
Jon Rush & Ali Dufty, Carlisle & Carus Green GC - 18/08/2025
Just a brief note to say thank you for another fantastic event. The organisation was excellent, golf courses great and even the weather was exemplary.
I'm afraid our golf did not match!!, but we thoroughly enjoyed the tournament and will hopefully see you again next year.
I know how much work goes into these events, so thank you and all your colleagues for making it such an enjoyable experience.
Gareth & Suzanne Davies, Old Padeswood Buckley & Mold GC - 18/08/2025
Just a quick note to say thank you for allowing us to stay in the Car Park for the EVMGT.
A big thank you to everyone involved we thoroughly enjoyed it and will hopefully see you next year.
Paul & Tracey Mellor, Chapel en le Frith GC - 20/08/2024
Just a quick but very important thanks and well done to you and all the team for a great EVMGT last week. Really enjoyed it - a quality event that is very well organised on 3 great courses. You need to be very proud of the event and previous years. Well done and thanks.
Neil & Marie Hessell, Hallamshire GC - 19/08/2024
After playing in our first ever 3 course event and having a fantastic time meeting and playing with some lovely couples, we would like to thank everyone involved in such a well organised competition. The website showing which clubs around the country the team members played their golf was very interesting, even better was the live leader board showing results and watching how we and the couples we played against were doing on the final day. Great effort by the catering team at the Burger Fest and everyone involved in the Prize Giving at the end of the evening. Hope to see you all next year.
Pat & Norman Varty, Penrith GC - 22/08/2023
Thank you for a great event. It was very well organised and we enjoyed playing all 3 courses for the first time. We will definitely look to play again next year.
Whilst it did not feel slow, I was surprised it took 4 1/2 - 5hrs for a BB competition.
Thanks again
Louise & Jon Harte, Northamptonshire County GC - 20/08/2023
Just a wee thank you regarding the competition and how much we enjoyed it. It was our first time playing a multi-day competition as well as better-ball……so it was all a new experience.
See you next year.
Matthew and Shirley Monaghan, Helensburgh GC - 20/08/23
Having just returned home after playing in our first Eden valley tournament myself and my wife would like to thank all concerned on a wonderful three days of golf. Everyone that we met at the courses where very friendly and did all in their powers to help.
Stephen Cross, Cave Castle GC - 19/08/23
Once again our many thanks to you, your husband and indeed all the volunteers for the organisation, it was tremendous on all counts and a FEATHER in your cap !!!
John Feather, Morecambe GC - 19/08/23
Many thanks to you & all your team in producing a very well run event.
Hopefully we will return next year.
Graham Spavin & Sharon Timperley, Heysham GC - 19/08/23
Many thanks to you and your husband for organising a really enjoyable three day mixed pairs competition. The courses were good, the welcome we received at each club was brilliant and the catering was fab. The goody bags were also a great idea!
We were thrilled with our raffle prize ( the raffle was about all we could win as our golf wasn’t up to much that week! We did enjoy the courses though). George and I are looking forward to getting a four ball together for a return visit to Penrith.
Sue & George Bayliss, Kiddeminster GC - 26/08/22
Just wanted to say congratulations to Carol & Richard on a fantastic three day event, we both really enjoyed it, it was extremely well organised & you should be very proud of yourselves.
I hope you are both rested after your busy time & you can now enjoy some golf yourselves.
Margaret Wood, Hexham GC - 22/08/22
We had a great time and intend to enter next years' competition.
Ian & Pam Rand, Billingham GC - 22/08/22
We thoroughly enjoyed the tournament and will be returning next year - Our accommodation is already booked!
I would also like to say how well organised the event was - we have played in many multiple day events and not all are so well organised - we particularly liked the card detailing the competition, prizes and including our tee times for all 3 days.
Jan Oldfield, Hurlston Hall GC - 21/08/22
Thoroughly enjoyed the tournament, very well organised and good value for money. Three lovely courses, with very different characteristics and challenges!
We met some lovely people and hope to see them again next year. I expect it will be very popular in 2023 so will be putting our entry in early! Thanks to the organisers, Richard and Carol , well done!
Elizabeth Mumberson, Cockermouth GC - 21/08/22
What a superb few days! So well done to the organisers - you never would have guessed it was the inaugural tournament. All seemed to go like clockwork, lovely courses, great people and such a warm welcome. Well done!!!
Jill & David Munro, Piltdown GC - 21/08/22
What a fantastic 3 days we had, well done to all organisers!
Are you planning to publish all of the daily winners at each golf course too at some stage, it would be good to see how we fared on those lists too?
We will certainly come back next year, well done again!!
Karen Stephens, Leyland GC - 20/08/22
The feedback we received this year has been overwhelmingly positive, and for this we thank you all. If you have any suggestions, positive or negative, please use the GIVE FEEDBACK button below to pass on your thoughts and ideas and we will use them to ensure that our 2026 EVMGT event is even better.
At EVMGT we do everything we can to ensure that handicaps are checked and are valid for all who enter, with the aim of creating a level playing field for all competitors. In 2025 the average HI in the competition was 14.2 for men and 19.8 for women. Only 7 of the 260+ players had a handicap of five or less. Based on these statistics, we will not be introducing a gross prize at this time.
In 2025 we added a Seniors Division with prizes for the top two Senior pairs who finish outside of the main top six. There will still be a one prize per pair policy in operation.
The receipt of goodie bags is designed to encourage players to attend our welcome event. Attendance does help us to ensure that everyone is here, knows where they need to be on the first day and adds value to the event. We have therefore extended the times of the event so that more people can attend.
Our starters will be asked to remind people to pick up rather than playing out the hole to speed up pace of play and it is our aim to increase the level of marshalling at each course.
We do feel however that players should be considerate to the fact that this is a fun event and the pace of play may vary between groups.
We will consider this in the future, but now that 4BBB scores are included for WHS handicapping purposes, this should be taken care of by the system.
Feedback in 2022 suggested that we should drop this event, which we did. Feedback from 2023 indicated that many people were disappointed that the registration event did not take place. We therefore reinstated and developed it for 2024 with the option to register at the allotted course on the first day of play, however goodie bags and raffle tickets will not be available for those who choose this option.
According to England Golf, the average handicap for ladies is 27.5 and 14.2 for gentlemen. We have looked at the data for all the competitors and the average handicap for ladies was 19.8 and 14.2 for gentlemen. The limits affected one man and three women, and only very slightly.
We will therefore continue with these limits which are designed to maintain a reasonable pace of play over the three days.
